PRT meeting with At
Follow up

Reflection questions re classroom/behaviour management:

- Ensure activities are purposeful and interesting with clear goals that students percieve to be worthwhile

in response to a quick informal survey I did (ref previous post) I discovered students where not able to clearly articulate their learning goals. Since then I have focused more heavily on the purpose for learning, e.g refereing to visual LI's on classroom walls, getting students to articulate what they are learning to do, and getting them to self-evaluate how they have achieved the learning goal.

This process needs to be ongoing. I still have not yet used the what, why how cards as intended. This will be the next priority.

- Provide adequate and relevant learning resources which offer students choice and the motivation to participate.

Our reading programme has a large amount of choice which the students enjoy. how else could I encorperate more student voice? what opportunities are there? something to ponder. A question for my A.T

- Negotiate a shared understnading, expectation and acceptance of responsibilities and rights within the classroom, e.g. collaboratively develop a code of conduct, and provide choice and decision making opportunities for students.

Do my students know the classroom expectations? these were co-created at the start of the year, but do students still remember them? Am I using them consistently?

Follow -up: Bring up classroom expectations with students again, pose some scenarios, do some roll plays. Follow-through with consequences.

- Encourage student self-evaluation of progress and achievement on learning tasks.

My students are not doing anough self-reflecting and evaluating. A.T advised that she gets her kids to mark their maths work after completion and make corrections. I need to implement this into my programme.

- Ensure students understand the consequences of choices and of their behaviour.

This links with previous section about classroom expectations. Need to up-date classroom expectations documentation so that it is available for when relievers teach the class
