Teaching as Inquiry (2) - reflection 03/09
What is going well?
Modelling book is still functioning well as a means of modelling learning and co-constructing learning with students.
The processes of questioning students in order to co-construct the why and how of our learning is proving effective, helping students to really engage and think about the learning.
What could be improved?
We have been doing a number of cloze activities to assist with students paragraph comprehension, as this is one of their areas of need.
I have not been entirely happy with how this is going and I attribute this to not having a set structure to follow in terms of delivering the lesson.
Next steps - ask senior teacher to come in and model a cloze activity session to see how they administer it and pick up tips.
