PLD Meeting (7.3.17): Moderating and Assessment in Maths


Today we had to opportunity to sit down as a team to discuss assessment data and how we use it to make our overall teacher judgements. There was a particular focus on administering the Gloss interview and the importance of getting students to explain their mathematical thinking. 



We then went on to discuss how we can use the assessment data to direct our teaching.

Building on from this, we discussed the importance of piecing together all forms of data to get a complete picture of students' abilities, helping us to make overall teacher judgments. 

The next steps for me from here are to concentrate on ensuring that I am continuing to collect data on my students and continue to think about where students fit in relation to the National Standards benchmarks.
