Key Ideas/Messages that informed/or challenge my teaching practice	Looked at an example self directed continuum - where are we? What are the skills of a self directed learner? Link What can we do to support students to have these skills.
Implications/Actions for my teaching practice	Co-construct success criteria. Exemplars are what the best to use for this. Students use these to know specifically what they are working towards. Students self reflect - they have the power. Time for reflection. THE WHY!!!!! Students need to know. MUST Sorts - Link - students could sort writing examples Independent learning tasks - should encourage higher order thinking - link
Reflection on actions to share at next meeting	Questions: Sentence types lesson - where to next and what changes could I have made. Keep coming back to the why - the effect on the reader. What are you telling me about this piece of writing. Check in sessions - Tips for running these. Text type - Name the features and then the skills that they would need to get these - the effect on the reader. These become the success criteria. Kera - piddly little poem - How can I extend. Link back to features of a poem. Expand on her ideas using another text type since it was a list she could turn it into a report. What’s your message? Group work v independent work in writing Can happen, but students must plan on their approach first.
