What has been your greatest learning this term?
My greatest learning has been changing my way of thinking when planning learning opportunities for students. I have learned to step back and observe more. Plan less, but be more strategic about what I want to achieve. I have learned to let go of some of the ways of doing things that I have always done in favour of asking myself the question - what is important to my students? What are their greatest needs at this point in time?
What do you aim to further develop next term?
I really want to develop the visibility of the learning that the students are doing. In the past I have used WALTS and SC, but these have dropped away in recent times for whatever reason. The research is there (Hattie etc) around the effectiveness of making learning visible. My aim is for students to be able to articulate what they are learning and why it is important.
