TAI Reflection 1- Term 1 2019

Overview: 1 hour Professional development session where we explored the ‘why’ behind the changes in the technology curriculum, the new progress outcomes and unpacked the vocabulary. We then explored some hands on activities- unplugged activities that link to the new progress outcomes.

My Learning:  My biggest learning or ‘takeaway’ from today was…

The biggest learning for me was around the new digital technology Achievement objectives. All of the achievement objectives talk about using authentic contexts. The challenge for me looking ahead to Term 2 and beyond is thinking about how I can link this in with what we are already doing in the classroom. Our topic for Term 2 is 'Change' and there is some potential to include lessons in as part of this topic. Initially, Toni talked about not worrying too much about the context to begin with to get students used to the new type of learning. This is how I plan to approach this in Term 2.
