Reflection - 13/08/2019

Knowing our learners.

Who is the child/ren who at times, may need more of your;  Time? Attention? Teaching? Support?

This year my development goal has been around making learning accessable to all students by making adjustments to how I implement my programme. Some examples of ways that I have have structured my programme differently include:

  • Using a To Do list for one student to allow him the freedom to pick and choose when he does his learning,
  • Using a 'Now' 'Next' system for a boy that requires regular breaks.
  • Making an individual S.D.L contract for one of my below students who needs to focus on certain areas.
  • Setting maths tasks that a variety of different levels so that the students can choose a level that best suits them.
  • Knowing that some students have difficulty managing their learning and/or getting started. I make sure to check in with these students early on to ensure that they understand what they need to do.
