How do you foster and encourage high expectations for ALL learners, while also taking into account their individual needs?
In our class high expectations are linked in with our school motto of Whaia Kia Tutuki. When completing learning tasks students are encouraged to reflect on if they have strived to their potential. This is often linked to the success criteria which acts as a self-checking system for students to determine if they have reached their full potential on the task. We often talk about the fact that everyone's potential is different, and that it is up to the individual student to make sure that they doing the best that they can do.
