Reflections:

After completing spelling assessments and analysing data, the next stage is to now implement a programme of learning into the classroom.

This will be done through the use of word sorts. The above article gave some good background info into a) the rationale for using sorts and b) some functional tips for implementation. One of the things mentioned was the gradual release of responsibility and the recommendation was to begin with teacher directed learning. This is what I will begin with in small groups. At this stage the focus will be on teacher directed stretching to working alongside students to complete sorts.

I will need to come back to this article when I plan my sessions as there is very usual prompts and questions which will help introduce this kind of new learning to students.
