Reflection - Mentor PD - Practise and Analysis Conversations

WHAT

During our session we were taken through a tool that can be used to give a structure around how we approach observations with our PCT's. The big focus was on the Pre Observation conversation. We talked about the importance of the 'Why' and how focusing on this can help lead to appropriate strategies to tackle this issue.

SO WHAT

I am meeting with my PCT tomorrow and we will have a conversation using this template. We have talked before about having an observation to look at teacher voice vs Student Voice. Tomorrow we will take it back a step by looking at why there is a need to look at this - what has been noticed? Are students unengaged? This will lead to the idea (hopefully) that having more student talk vs teacher talk will be a valid strategy for increasing engagement.
