What am I most proud of achieving with my class this term? Why?
In respect of learning and teaching, what areas do I need to focus on next term to improve my teaching and the children’s learning?
I am most proud of the consistency and structure I have provided the students with this Term. I got the sense that students returning from Lockdown needed a structured and stable environment to help them to settle back into routine. I have also been really proud of the growth I have seen in some of my students, particularly the girls, in the way they are able to deal with issues and problem solve. This all fits in with out focus on the school disposition of Growth Mindset, which has been a focus for our class this Term.
Looking to next Term I plan to continue to increase my knowledge of the science of language and running a structured language programme. There are some readings that I still intend to do to deepen my knowledge of the theory that underpins this approach. There are also several things that I have been thinking about recently that I would like to adapt in my programme. These adaptations are driven by the desire to give student more autonomy as learners and to become more self-directed.
