Reflection - 17.11.2023
What has sat with me/resonated with me from our talks today?
- Nuwyne
For me it was the importance of Matauranga Māori knowledge. There is immense knowledge, skills and ideas that exists in our community. We were fortunate today to hear Nuwyne talk with passion and a depth of knowledge. She mentioned that a lot of things will sit with us and a lot of things we will get along the way. Part of my responsibility to make this happen is to seek out more knowledge within our rohe to make these connecitons.
-Peter
What resonates with me about the talk that Peter gave was the pride you feel when you know and can talk about our local history. I feel extreemly proud to know the history and origins of our team names and think that it is critcally important that all staff at our kura have the same knowledge.
-Curriculum Refresh
Thae main thing I keep thinking about is how the new Curriculum Refresh not going to be an enormous shift in my current practise.
What are my personal next steps?
-Nuwyne
My next steps are to take down some notes of some of the key learning from this morning. When visiting these locations with my daughter I will tak great pride in sharing this kaupapa with her. The Manawatū is afterall her rohe.
-Curriculum Refresh
My next steps are to preapre next steps for our staff meeting. This will involve looking at the Padlet noticings and wonderings and use these as a basis to drive our next PD.
