Mana Potential PD 09.04 & 10.01

WHAT Started by putting together the atua posters (insert photo) Who do you want to make proud today? What would X say to you now? What have you done today to make x proud today? Puanga celebrated here and in Whanganui. Talked about why this is celebrated in this part of the couintry. Reigal rises before Matariki is an indicator that Matariki is on it's way (10 days). Matariki is difficult to see in this part of the country. Went to Lesley's class to see how the waiata that we learned can be taught to students. We also watched how the atua can be used by students to check in with how they are feeling. Stuents were given senarios to show how this can change depending on the activity or time of the day. Whakanui - exceeding the expectation Whakamana - meeting the expectation Whakaiti - not meeting the expectation They come along with hand and body movements Manaakitanga: We are statements - - we are considerate - we are hospitable - we are inclusive - we are caring - we are supportive - we are protective - we are helpful - we are hopeful NOW WHAT - Set up Mana Potential Wall display - Begin by teaching students Atua waiata - Use Circle Time as the vehicle - Provide additional lessons using the IRDPX model to help students learning new and challenging vocabulary
